The Baltic Dry Index is a composite indicator of dry bulk freight rates for Handymax, Panamax and Capesize vessels published by the Baltic Exchange and serving as the primary barometer of global trade. In October 2026 the maximum reached 3148.00 index points, the minimum was 2511.00 index points and the average stood at 2762.05 index points. The index reflects freight rates only.
